This award is presented each year to a woman in the serving area of the East Mississippi United Way for their contribution to the empowerment of others in the areas of education, health and financial stability. Hulin received the award November 14 during the Power of the Purse event that was held at the Riley Center in Meridian.   More then 23,000 books have been distributed to more than 870 children in Kemper County between the ages of birth to five years of age since the beginning of the program began in 2012. Loretta and her husband Bernard live in the Preston area of Kemper County.
