The Little Rock Community Center is under consideration for Mississippi Landmark Designation.

This is due to the fact that it was the first brick building constructed for the education of African American Children years ago.

However, we need all alumni of the Little Rock School, that’s anyone who attended the school to submit a short letter of support for this historic designation so that they know that the communities are all behind it.

Please send your letters to, Katherine Anderson, Mississippi Landmarks Administrator Preservation Division, Mississippi Department of Archives and History P O Box 571, Jackson, M S 30205 Or Please get these letters out as soon as possible, try before the 8th of December.

Remember this is a giant step forward for Kemper County Residents, especially for the African American Community. Thank You, Deborah Drake
