PRE-MOTHER'S DAY PLATE SALE

The Brown Ridge Baptist Church Relay team will be selling Pre-Mother's Day plates on Friday May 10, at the Ruby D. Rankin Farmers Market Building. From 11 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Your choice of : steak, 1/2 chicken, ribs, potato salad, baked beans, bread, and a drink. $15 donation. HISTORICAL ASSOC. 
MEETING

The Kemper County Historical Association will meet on Monday, May 13 at the Museum in DeKalb.  Guests and new members are welcome!  Monday’s meeting will include refreshments, a brief business session, and fellowship among folks who care deeply about Kemper County and our heritage



LEARN & GROW SESSION

MSU Extenstion in Kemper County will host a Learn &Grow Session on Tuesday, May 14th at 11 a.m. at the Senior Citizen building in downtown DeKalb.May is Mental Health Awareness Month. Mental Health is something everyone should care about. Mr. Lee Steele with Weems Mental Health will share helpful information in raising awareness and eliminating the stigma.



DIXON DAY

Dixon Day will be held Saturday, May 18, beginning at 10 a.m. at the Neshoba County Fairground. Lunch will be served picnic style. All former students, teachers, families, friends, and neighbors are invited to attend. For more information call Patsy Davis at 601-656-3795.



Blackwater Cemetery Association

The Blackwater Cemetery Association will hold its annual meeting on Homecoming Day after the noon meal on May 19. Family and friends with love ones buried in the cemetery are invited. The meeting will start at 1:15 p.m.

Homecoming and revival announcement

The Blackwater Baptist Church will have homecoming on Sunday, May 19 at 11 a.m. with lunch to follow. Revival services will be held at the church Monday through Wednesday, May 20-22, starting at 7 p.m. The Rev. Tommy Cheshire will preach the revival.

LUMINARIA FORMS

Memorial day services at Vernon Baptist Church (Dripping Springs) moved to Sunday, May 19 at 11:00am.  County Line Rd.  Preston. Rev Lawrence Pool will bring the message.



KEMPER COUNTY SOIL & WATER 
CONSERVATION DEISTRICT ANNOUNCES BEAVER CONTROL COST-SHARE PROGRAM

Applications are now being accepted by Kemper County SWCD for the Kemper County Beaver Control Cost-Share Program. The Mississippi Soil and Water Conservation Commission and the Kemper County Board of Supervisors have funded the program to aid non-industrial private landowners in beaver control. CUB SCOUTS SEEKING SCOUTS 

Pack #4 of Kemper County Cub Scouts is looking for interested individuals (boys and girls) from the ages of six year olds to twelve year olds that are interested in scouting. 4-H SHOOTING SPORTS VOLUNTEER 
RECRUITMENT

Kemper County 4-H Shooting Sports will soon be gearing up for another year. Through the 4-H Shooting Sports program youth ages 8-18 are given the opportunity to learn responsibility, sportsmanship, self-discipline, and other qualities critical to the development of productive citizens. We are currently seeking volunteer instructors in archery, shotgun, rifle and pistol. Training opportunities will be available in January. Adults 21 years of age or older must pass a background check and submit an application.
