BETA?CLUB COLLECTION

East Kemper Elementary School Jr. BETA Club is collecting new coloring books, unused crayons, and old eye glasses. Please send these items to East Kemper Elementary School care of Ms. La Wanda Shields or Mrs. Genetrice Doss.

Head Start/Early Head Start is accepting applications for the 2019-2020 school term. The child must be: 3-4 years of age on or before Sept. 1 from (Head Start) or 8 weeks of age on/before Sept. 1 for (Early Head Start). The following information must be presented: Proof of income: 1040, 1040A, 1040EZ tax return, Child Support, TANF letter, copy of college grants/scholarship, and any other source of household income. Social Security or SSI statement. Proof of age: Birth Certificate or form 121. Voters/Potential Voters the Local Primary Election is coming.  If you have not registered to vote, have moved into the county, changed your addressed, or have not voted in two Presidential Election you need to visit our Kemper County Circuit Clerk Office soon!

The Mt. Sinai MB Church will host a Mission program on March 10, at 2:30 p.m. The guest speaker for the occasion will be Marcus Holiday, the pastor of Pilgrim Rest MB Church.

You are cordially invited to come and help Union Baptist Church celebrate the 13th year anniversary of their pastor, Rev. James E. Granger on March 10, (2nd Sunday in March) at 2 p.m. Rev. A.D. Lewis of the Mt. Olive Baptist Church. Meridian ,Ms, will deliver the anniversary message.



BLACK?HISTORY PROGRAM

A Night Under the Stars

A Night Under the Stars, featuring singer Jeff Bates will be held on April 27, at 6 p.m. We will be raising funds for our arts and music program at our school, Kemper Academy.  Admission is $10 per adult and $5 per student and includes unlimited use of the bouncy house and field games. Concessions are available.

A FREE educational program is being offered to help moms-to-be learn how to make healthier choices for themselves and their baby.

Join us for a 9 session course where you will learn about healthy eating, cooking with new recipes, saving money at the grocery store, and getting physically active. You’ll learn all these topics and MORE! There will be goodies given away, and you can taste a new recipe while discussing and sharing valuable information. CUB SCOUTS SEEKING SCOUTS 

Pack #4 of Kemper County Cub Scouts is looking for interested individuals (boys and girls) from the ages of six year olds to twelve year olds that are interested in scouting. Meetings are held on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month at 5 p.m. at the Barney Brown Senior Citizen Building. Point of Contact: Billy J. Rush, Cub Master.



4-H Shooting Sports Volunteer 
Recruitment

Kemper County 4-H Shooting Sports will soon be gearing up for another year. Through the 4-H Shooting Sports program youth ages 8-18 are given the opportunity to learn responsibility, sportsmanship, self-discipline, and other qualities critical to the development of productive citizens. We are currently seeking volunteer instructors in archery, shotgun, rifle and pistol. Training opportunities will be available in January. Adults 21 years of age or older must pass a background check and submit an application. FREE BOOKS TO 
CHILDREN UNDER 5 YEARS OLD

Kemper County is a participant in the Dolly Parton Imagination Library Program providing a free book mailed monthly to the child in the child’s name from birth until the child reaches the age of five. This project is sponsored by the United Way of East Mississippi, the Strasser Family Foundation and the Partners for Kemper County, Community Foundation of East Mississippi.  To enroll your child on the website enter uwem.org and click on Impact Programs Imagination Library  or imaginationlibrary.com and select the “PARENT” tab located at the top of the web page. Registration cards may also be picked up at the Kemper County Library or the Kemper County Economic Development Authority office during normal business hours.
