Early Childhood Education students from Kemper County’s John C. Stennis Career & Technical Center (CTE) attended the Family Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) State Leadership Conference on March 6-8.

The conference was held in Jackson, Mississippi. CTE students competed in various events such as Life Event Planning.  CTE’s student, Alkeydra Gordon, placed 1st in Life Event Planning. 

Ms. Gordon will advance to the National FCCLA Competition in Anaheim, California in June 2019.

 Early Childhood Education instructor for CTE is Mrs. Sandra Kelly.  CTE Director is Ms. Connie Johnson.

“We are very proud of all the FCCLA members who attended,” said Johnson.         

Other CTE students who attended the FCCLA conference were Amanda Blair, Jaterica Burton, Kara Grady, Sage Love, Taniya Roberts, Yakira White, and Analyn Makenlee Wright.  Ms. Shalonda Moore, CTE Secretary, also served as a co-sponsor for the group.
