It may still be late June, but the Kemper County Youth Football Association is getting ready for its 2019 season.
Coaches Marcell Chamblin and Leroy Doss are putting the teams together and have started practice on Monday and Thursdays at the DeKalb Park.

“We are trying to give the kids something to do and something to look forward to Doss said. “We are still looking for more players and cheerleaders.”

The Kemper County Youth Football Association is open to boys 4-12. There are four age divisions. There will also be a cheerleading group.

Practice will continue throughout the summer and anyone interested in playing is welcomed to come and participate. Final registration deadline will be Aug. 16 and the season will kick off September 12, though there may be some preseason jamborees. They compete in the Mississippi Youth Football League.
