Another step in the renovation project at the Kemper County Courthouse in DeKalb was taken Monday when the Kemper County Board of Supervisors approved $19,260 for a roofing project.
he action was taken during the board’s second meeting of the month. They voted to pay AI Roofing Savers, Inc., for additional roof work.
In other matters, supervisors voted to:
- Approve an order for $1,006 for a new Dell EMC printer to be added to the MEC public station. This was done to be in compliance with a state mandate;
Approve an order to provide gravel at three school bus turnarounds at the request of the Kemper County School District. Another request was for dirt to be used to fill holes at another turnaround; and,
- Approve the claims docket payroll.
Supervisor Johnny Whitsett, District 2, said the county is hoping to get started on some paving projects.
“If it will stop raining,” Whitsett said. “We need a couple of weeks of dry weather so we can get started on our road projects.”
